The Perfect CV

Your CV is the first impression a prospective employer gains about you, so it is of real importance to get it right.

Helping you find another role

Each employer has different candidate requirements, so at VMA Group we will help you tailor your CV towards the particular requirements of each individual employer. Your CV will be dealt with by a specialist public relations consultant, who will use their in-depth knowledge of the company and specific vacancy to highlight the areas of your CV that are most appropriate to the employer.

Some general tips:

Make sure that it is easy to read and in a legible, commonly used font.

Make sure there are no spelling or grammatical errors.

Try to use bullet points rather than long paragraphs.

A list of achievements highlights not only what you did in your previous job, but also how good you were at it.

Forget the ‘2 sides of A4’ rule. Whilst the CV should be concise, if it takes three pages to list all your achievements and great work experience, go for it!

Most importantly employers want to see your work experience, so make sure that is featured first.
